Minor Heat — Born Hour
Minor Heat opens Wei month: heat is established; earth takes month command.
Overview
Xiao Shu (小暑) is the Jie at 105° opening Wei (未). Fire still radiates but the month branch is dry/wet earth storage toward autumn metal.
Pentads: 温风至、蟋蟀居宇、鹰始挚. 'Minor' is relative to Da Shu — a folk heat scale, not a thermometer guarantee.
Month Pillar Wu → Wei. Wei hides Yi earth, Ding fire, Yi wood in classical tables — fire residue inside earth.
Sitting in shade, eating lotus root and mung bean are summer habits, not elemental prescriptions.
Phenology (three pentads)
Three pentads: warm wind; crickets in eaves; hawks strike.
Classical citation
Classical: heat splits into small and large in the sixth month.
Month command contrast
Month command: Wei (未) opens; heat lives in earth.
