Overview

Xiao Man (小满) is Si month's Zhong Qi at 60°. The name celebrates partial filling of grain — humility of the calendar.

Pentads: 苦菜秀、靡草死、麦秋至. For wheat regions this is near harvest readiness; rice regions are still planting.

Inside Si month it thickens fire climate. Structure still follows roots and Ten Gods, not 'fullness' slogans.

Some years have 小满 without 大满 in the 24-name set — classical naming prefers modesty and continuity.

Kind Zhong Qi · mid-point

Deepens 巳 month.

Culture Custom

The absence of 大满 in the twenty-four names is often read as Confucian modesty: fullness invites decline.

Phenology (three pentads)

Three pentads: bitter greens flourish; grasses die; wheat nears harvest.

Classical citation

Classical: things reach a small fullness — not yet overflowing.

Month command contrast

Month command: Si mid-point; fire thickens without changing branch.
