Major Snow — Born Hour
Major Snow is the Jie that opens Zi month in the 15°-step sequence from Li Chun 315°.
Overview
Da Xue (大雪) sits at 255°. In the node sequence used with Li Chun=315°, it is a Jie opening Zi (子) month; some popular lists label it differently — trust the exact instant.
Pentads: 鹖鴠不鸣、虎始交、荔挺出. Heavy snow is regional; the astronomical node is not.
Customs: 腌肉、观雪、进补, winter solstice preparation begins in many homes.
Always prefer the chart engine's computed Jie instant over folklore lists when placing the Month Pillar.
Phenology (three pentads)
Three pentads: cold birds silent; tigers mate; iris sprouts.
Classical citation

How to read it on a chart
Find Major Snow in the almanac or chart engine output for your birth year and compare the instant with true solar time.
Jie nodes can move the Month Pillar; Zhong Qi deepen the same month without switching branch.
Limits
Major Snow is a calendrical node and cultural festival, not a weather guarantee or personal luck verdict.
