Classical BaZi Reading Path — Born Hour
Born Hour casts charts along a classical path: stem–branch foundations (《千里命稿》-style), month-command patterns after 《子平真诠》 (透干 raises confidence), Yong Shen toward 《滴天髓》 balance, and Shen Sha tables in 《三命通会》 style (shensha-v2). Structure and symbol — not fate verdicts.
1. Foundations first
Start with Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, Five Elements cycles, casting the Four Pillars, and month command. 《千里命稿》 is a common classical entry; modern primers such as 《四柱预测学》 can serve as a concept map — despite “prediction” in some titles, Born Hour only takes the calendrical skeleton.

2. Then patterns (格局)
With foundations in place, read 《子平真诠》 for how month command and Ten Gods conditions frame pattern level. Patterns are structural labels and candidates — not social rank.

3. Close reading last
After some chart practice, study 《滴天髓》 and 《三命通会》 with real examples — not as a one-pass quote book. 《三命通会》 also preserves many Shen Sha tables; Born Hour’s Shen Sha topic keeps a practical lookup set with limits text.
Classics are cultural resources; Born Hour turns them into reviewable rule versions (classical-bazi, shensha-v2), not miracle stories.
